Big Sky

Big Sky Wines began in 2005 when Kathryn Jacobs and Jeremy Corban returned to New Zealand from living in France. They knew the time was right to pursue their long held ambition – to make world class, hand-crafted wines, that give true expression to the character of their place. And that’s what they are doing. Big Sky is a small, family-owned vineyard, making limited production hand-crafted wines from their low cropping single block vineyard right under the big southern sky.

They were drawn to the Te Muna valley and say it's a very special place. Situated on the high alluvial terrace of Martinborough’s Huangarua river, with its low yielding deep gravels, low rainfall, warm days and cool nights, make it ideal for growing complex and expressive Pinot Noir. Big Sky know it's amongst the best in the world, and that’s reflected in their wines.
