With just 800 vines of the outstanding Bordeaux Clone 481 in their vineyard, production is naturally limited to a maximum of around 85 cases per year dependent on climatic conditions.
The Alexander Merlot is subtly restrained on the nose with well-concentrated and elegantly packed aromas of ripe blackberries, black plums & liquorice. The palate has real power with a sweetly-rich, well-balanced and sustained finish of dark chocolate, liquorice and toasty oak nuances echoing its’ Bordeaux heritage.
Aged in French oak, for 11 months, this hand crafted wine can be enjoyed now or cellared 5 years +
Serve with roast beef, hearty casseroles and a surprisingly great accompaniment to a dark chocolate tart.
