Perched on the eastern Martinborough Terraces, family-owned Croft Wines harness the best of nature’s bounty, carefully crafting wines of the highest quality.
Peter and May Croft started out with the goal of growing grapes and developing a quality vineyard as good as any in Martinborough. Even from the earliest days they had the formula right; award-winning Martinborough Vineyard purchased most of their crops. Their volumes increased over vintages and the prospect of producing their own wine became viable and in 2005, they released the first wine under their own label. Today releases include Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, an unoaked Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The Pirinoa Road label is the U.K. export label for Croft Wines. The Croft label is distinctive and incorporates symbolism of the four Croft family members, the cross representing May's commitment to the Anglican Church.
"What marks our wine as different is our approach to winemaking. Because we care intensely about what we do, we have eschewed high volume, high mechanisation, in favour of a lower volume, high quality product. We can truly state that Croft wines are made in the vineyard."
