Lime Gully vineyard is located in the Longbush Lime Terrace, in a valley, twelve minutes drive east of Martinborough. James and Barbara Walker have a home that consists of thirteen hectares of farm, vineyard and protected QEII reserve bordered by the Whangahau River. Together they are developing a self-sufficient farm where they combine agriculture with viticulture practises.
Their Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes are grown organically optimising the potential of the vineyard soils and they have a hands-on approach managing everything themselves. The Lime Gully philosophy of winemaking is to make low intervention vintage wines.
A very light basket press of their premium Pinot, light pink rose colour, hints of strawberry, white peach and melons. Made in a dry style, full and rich on the palate; a reminder of Provence.
