Vynfields is a fully certified organic vineyard to Bio-Gro New Zealand standards. Sprays and fertilisers are based on seaweed extracts, fish meal, calcium and the bio-dynamic preparations. All vineyard and winery activities are performed by hand. Vines are cane pruned in winter time. Leaf plucking occurs in late spring to ensure exposure of the fruit and protection from fungal diseases. Fruit thinning and hand picking of the fruit is undertaken with careful bunch and berry selection. Winemaking practices use hand plunging, gravity transfer and minimum pumping.
