Ma Maison Pinot Noir - 2018

Ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on rim with garnet hues. This has a light nose with soft red berry fruit aromas, showing some whole berry confectionary notes in an amalgam with pepper, herbs and spice elements. Medium-bodied, light red berry fruit flavours are intermixed with red plum, red floral and soft, dried herbal flavours. Grainy tannins and brisk acidity is prominent over the fruit sweetness, providing a firm line, leading to a lightly nuanced finish with red fruits and herbs. This is a light, red fruited Pinot Noir in the cooler spectrum with a firm, crisp palate. Match with pasta risotto and poultry, over the next 3-4+ years. Made from all the Pinot Noir clones from the ‘Ma Maison’ vineyard, separately handled, destemmed and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine spending 10-24 days on skins and aged 10 months in French oak.
