StoneCutter

you are probably aware StoneCutter have sold the land and buildings, the brand is still in existence and we are looking forward to what the future may bring for them.

Planted in 1995. The first vintage was in 1999.

StoneCutter pays homage to the influence of the Ruamahunga river, that thousands of years ago, (originating north of Masterton), meandering across the South Eastern Wairarapa, carving across the valley leaving the Martinborough Terrace in what once was its riverbed, emptying 130Km later into Palliser Bay. And a tribute to the pioneers who planted the first vineyards - celebrating the people, who hand tended the vines, imparting a piece of their soul upon the grape and glass with their traditional approach of hand tended vines with the philosophy "the majority of winemaking is done in the vineyard with the winemakers role - to guide what the vineyard has produced into wine - with minimum intervention”.

From the heart of the Wairarapa wine trail and the focus of Wellington Wine Country, StoneCutter Martinborough produces & supplies superbly flavoured hand crafted wine, skilfully moulded to be enjoyed and savoured with friends and family.

We have some interesting wines on offer at the moment from the silky & seductive 2019 Merlot through to the lush 2020 Pinot Gris and the soft elegant estate Pinot Noir. -

Within every bottle is a story, release yours.
