The Palliser Estate story is the story of their people, the land, and how they look after it to ensure that they consistently produce great wine that people around the world love to drink.
Where they are plays a big part in creating that wine. The vineyard is in the internationally-renowned winegrowing area of Martinborough. Their name, a reference to local landmark Cape Palliser, pays homage to the unique combination of the semi-maritime climate and terroir that make the region one of the best wine-growing regions in the world. The history of Palliser Estate winery goes back decades. Palliser’s first grapes were harvested in 1989. Today, the vineyard has spread across ninety two hectares that produces predominantly Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling.

This has a fresh and firmly bound nose with aromas of white stonefruits with lifted white florals a subtle herbal nuances, unfolding minerally lees elements. The nose possesses a steely freshness and detail.
Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is fresh, bright and lively with a firmly concentrated core of soft, aromatic white stonefruits entwined with white florals, lifted esters, some honeysuckle and mineral notes. The mouthfeel is lively with good linearity, the wine following a fine phenolic threaded line with integrated acidity. The wine grows in richness as it carries to a concentrated, sustained, aromatic finish. This is a finely concentrated dry Pinot Gris with a core of stonefruits and florals, and a lingering finish.

VINTAGE 2014 - The nose is full and bold with ripe, dark berry and plum fruit aromas with an array of complex notes of savoury herbs, spices and sweet, whole berry aromatic lift.
Medium-bodied, bright, luscious and sweet dark berry and plum flavours unfold to reveal spice, herb and liquorice interest. The fruit is fresh and primary, enhanced by the acidity, and is up-front and accessible. The mouthfeel is softly textured with moderate extraction and supple tannins that build, leading to a light, dry finish with red floral and herb nuances. This is a plush, bright-fruited and lively Pinot Noir with fine tannin backbone.

VINTAGE 2015 - This has a full and fresh bouquet, packed with pungent aromas of passionfruit and herbs, gooseberries, capsicums and limes, the fruit positively herbaceous.
Dry to taste and medium to full bodied, ripe, juicy and vibrant tropical fruit and pungent passionfruit flavours are lifted by piquant fresh herbal notes. The palate has concentration and a rounded mouthfeel carried by slippery, refreshing acidity and a fine, textural line. Some alcohol power drives the sweet and bold flavours to a firm, lingering textured finish.
This is a wonderfully aromatic wine, reminiscent of spices, quince, lemons and lychees. This Pinot Gris is a powerful wine and is both rich and lingering. A wine that will change and benefit from ageing, though still good while young.

VINTAGE 2014 - The nose is very fresh and tightly concentrated with finely present aromas of ripe dark raspberry and cherry fruit with violet and red floral detail that grows in perfume and lift. Medium to full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with beautifully concentrated and succulently sweet flavours of raspberries and dark cherry fruit, with the oaking and whole cluster componentry being very integrated and unobtrusive.
The eighth release in the ‘Great Dogs’ series. ‘Ted Hobbs’ was a pure-bred Beagle that belonged to the late Jock Hobbs and family.This premium Pinot commemorates some of the finest, furriest, four-legged friends Palliser has had.
The nose is finely presented with fragrant red berry fruit entwined with aromas of dark red florals and nutty oak nuances, and a subtle thread of dark herbs at the core. This unfolds ethereal floral and raspberry liqueur notes that build in intensity and penetration.
The palate is medium-full bodied, concentrated with tightly bound flavours of sweet, rich, black cherry fruit melded with lifted oak and subtle nuances of dark herbs, whole cluster savoury element and floral detail. The fruit is carried by very fine-grained, powdery tannin extraction and ripe acidity. This has very positive linearity and the wine carries a sweet and succulent finish of spices, liquorice and black florals.
The nose is soft and full with gently concentrated aromas of lime and lemon fruit harmoniously entwined with exotic white and yellow florals, nuances of honeysuckle, unfolding mineral elements with aeration.
Dryish to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is subtly rich with mouthfilling flavours of lime fruit melded with exotic florals and honeysuckle, detailed by mineral suggestions. The mouthfeel of soft and dry with very fine textures from fruit extract, and the acidity is softly ripe and well balanced. The flavours of exotic florals and citrus fruit blossom, and carry to a long and sustained finish with an array of aromatics. This is a softly rich, aromatic, dry Riesling with exotic citrus, floral and honeysuckle flavours and fine textures, unfolding waves of fragrance.
