Huntress Pinot Noir 2017

Huntress is Jannine Rickards, a young winemaker with a load of experience working for some of New Zealands esteemed wineries, including Ata Rangi, Pegasus, Julicher, Milton and currently at Urlar in the Wairarapa.

The Pinot Noir for this wine comes from the On Giants Shoulders’ vineyard on the Martinborough Terrace, planted in 1986 by the late Jack McCreanor.

This is a co- ferment of hand harvested clone 5, 828 and Abel and 10/5 with a 40% whole bunch component. It had a 7 day cold soak and 28 day total time on skins before being pressed to older French oak barriques.

The wine has deep rose and bright red fruit aromatics and is backed up with a dense and rich mouth feel
